You now Christmas is not just about giving gifts out.  No…  the real reason is Christ our savior.  But I also like the candy canes.

I remember oneChristmas I had the largest candy cane that I have ever seen.  It took me about two weeks to each but every minute was so GOOD!!!  I know you remember them..

Bob’s “Big Jim” Giant Peppermint Stick 5oz

Yep it was Big Bob’s Giant Pepermint Stick.  5 onzes of joy!!!  Approximately 12 inches long & one inch in diameter. Made with pure peppermint oil.

The you had all the candy canes on the tree.  There were so many candy canes you could never finish them all.

Jelly Belly Christmas Mix Jelly Beans

How about the Jelly Beans.  I used to raid the jar at least 10 to 20 times a day.  I remember getting sick all the time.

Man this is bring back some memories.

Now how about the chocolates.

Well, today I was just looking around the net and I wanted to find out a little bit about how to make candy.  I also wanted to see if their were any books out their that could help me.

So, I headed over to amazon to see what books were available.  It is no surprise that amazon has a large selection of books on this subject.  Well, I wanted to share a few of these books.

I found two books on how to make Bonbons.  They kind of caught my eye.  Let take a look at them.

Recipies for Taffies, Candies, Bonbons, and Fudges in this book!

Both seem to have a good explanation of the subject of Bonbons.

Lets get away from Bonbon for a minute.  I really was not looking for that kind of information.  I waned to find out more of how to make basic candy.  Then I found this book.

How To Make Candy

I have not read this book yet but it looked interesting.

Now their was one book that 3 people did not like.  It was Nancy Shipman’s Nancys Candy Cookbook: How to Make Candy at Home the Easy Way, Second Edition.

Most describe the book as a basic book, probably the best choice for me, that had recipes that could be picked up anywhere on the net.  Another complaint said the it was printed on computer paper and was not that professional.

I don’t know, but in any case, it is probably a very good beginners book.

Mary Janes Candy (240 Count)

Mary Janes are a classic candy that has just last for years.  Quit frankly, I think that this candy will last for years to come.  People really LOVE this brand of candy.  To me this candy is for though who like a unique taste.  But, it definitly makes for a great halloween treat.
